Union Public Service Commission UPSC has released the application for National Defence Academy NDA & Naval Academy Examination 2020. This exam is conducted to recruit candidates in Army, Navy and Air force. It is a two-tier examination where a candidate needs to clear a written exam and SSB interview.

Last date for receipt of examination- 28/1/2020 till 6:00 pm

Total number of vacancies to be filled:
National Defense Academy NDA: 370 to include 208 for Army, 42 for Navy and 120 for Air force. 28 for ground duties.
Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet entry scheme) : 48
Total number of vacancies - 418
Eligibility criteria:
Nationality: Candidate must be an unmarried male and must be a citizen of India, Bhutan, Nepal or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962.
Age: Person born between 2nd July 2001 and 1st July 2004 are eligible to fill the form.
Educational Qualification:
- For Army Wing of National Defense Academy - 12th class pass out in the exam conducted by a state education board.
- For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian 6 Naval Academy - 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University. Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination.
Fee: Students have to pay Rs 100/- either by cash at any SBI branch or through Net banking of State Bank of India or by using Debit/Credit cards.
All the SC/ST candidates, sons of JCO's NCO's are exempted from payment of fees.

Syllabus:
There will be 2 papers. The first paper will be of mathematics and the second paper will be of General ability.

Algebra
Matrices and determinants
Trigonometry
Two and three-dimensional geometry
Differential calculus
Integral calculus
Differential equations
Vector algebra
Statistics and Probability
Topics to be covered in the General ability test:
English
General knowledge-it will include subjects like
Physics
Chemistry
General science
History
Geography
Current events
If you pass the written test you will have to sit for the SSB interview which will also carry 900 marks.
